# Saving the theme configuration takes a very long time

## Description

Saving the theme configuration takes several minutes.

## Cause

When saving the theme configuration, the entire storefront is being compiled in the background. This means that the entire JS and CSS code of Shopware and all extensions (plugins, apps and themes) will be rebuilt.

This can take 1-2 minutes depending on the theme, especially if a theme offers many settings, such as ThemeWare®.

## Solution

This process is mostly RAM and CPU dependent. Check if your server has sufficient resources and PHP is allocated these resources.
