Products

In the Products module of Shopware 6 you create your products and manage prices, images, variants and stock across your entire catalogue.

The Products module is the central place to manage your entire assortment. Here you create new products and maintain all their information, such as prices, descriptions, images, variants, properties and stock levels. Variants, cross-selling and product reviews are also managed directly on the product. The product overview lets you keep track of your complete catalogue.

You can find the module under Catalogues > Products.

ThemeWare® tip: ThemeWare® gets more out of your product pages – for example with product benefits (USPs), payment method hints, share links, product videos and social proofing right inside the buy box.

Further information

Please find more information regarding "Products" in the official Shopware documentation:

Promotions

With promotions in Shopware 6 you create discounts and voucher campaigns with individual conditions for your shop.

Promotions let you set up discounts and vouchers for your shop. You define the conditions under which a discount applies (for example a minimum order value or specific customer groups), how large it is and whether it is redeemed via a voucher code.

You can find the module under Marketing > Promotions.

ThemeWare® tip: Put your promotions in the spotlight – with ThemeWare® sale elements such as the countdown banner, hero countdown and discount banner you create attention and urgency.

Return extensions

Return an extension (plugins, apps or themes) in Shopware 6

In general, when purchasing extensions in the Shopware Store, it is always a good idea to install them in advance as a trial version in the form of a free trial month (trial version). This way you can test the extension for 30 days free of charge and make sure that it meets your expectations.

If, despite this, you have accidentally purchased an extension incorrectly, please contact our sales department using the contact form.

Caches & Indexes

Clear and warm up caches and indexes in Shopware 6 - when it makes sense and how to do it.

When making changes in the store (especially when they affect the storefront), it is quite useful to clear the Shopware cache once.

Note: This article is only relevant for users of a self-hosted store.

In the module Caches & Indexes you have the possibility to clear and warm up the cache.

  1. Open your shop administration

  2. Navigate to the section "Settings" => "System" => "Caches & Indexes".

  3. Click onto the button "Clear caches" (1) or onto the button "Clear and warm up caches" (2)

This allows you to empty the caches without them being warmed up again immediately afterwards.

At first, a new cache will be created. As soon as this exists, the old cache will be removed.

Updates the indexes such as the category and product indexes as well as the SEO URLs. Using the dropdown menu you can choose all indexes that should not be updated when updating the indexes.

Dynamic product groups

Dynamic product groups in Shopware 6 combine products automatically based on rules - ideal for product listings, promotions and cross-selling.

With dynamic product groups you combine products not manually but automatically, based on definable conditions. Using filter rules you define which characteristics a product must meet (for example manufacturer, price or category) - all matching products are assigned to the group automatically and update as soon as new products meet the criteria.

You can then use these groups in many places in your shop, for example in the product listings of the Shopping Experiences, in cross-selling or as the basis for promotions.

You can find the module under Catalogues > Dynamic product groups.

Creating a dynamic product group

  1. Open Catalogues > Dynamic product groups and click Create dynamic product group.

  2. Enter a meaningful name and, optionally, a description.

  3. In the Filter area, use AND and OR conditions to define which products belong to the group.

  4. Use the Preview to check which products currently match, then save the group.

Please find more information regarding "Dynamic product groups" in the official Shopware documentation:

Maintenance mode

In this article you will learn how to activate the maintenance mode for a sales channel.

  1. Open the administration of your shop

  2. Switch via the main navigation to the sales channel of your storefront in the section "Sales Channels" (1)

  3. Scroll in the Tab "General" to the Section "Status" (2)

  4. Click the switch button "Maintenance mode" (3)

  5. Now click the button "Save" at the top (4)

The corresponding sales channel is now in maintenance mode.

In maintenance mode the sales channel will be invisible to visitors. However, you will be able to access it, using white listed IPs. This way you can safely work on the sales channel data (e.g. to make updates), while blocking visitors at a maintenance mode screen.

Add IP addresses to the whitelist in order to allow selective access to your shop. You may add IPv4 and IPv6 addresses as needed.

You can change the layout for maintenance pages in the basic information ("Settings" => "Shop") of your shop. In the section "Shop pages" you will find the option "Shop page layout for maintenance pages".

Reviews

In the Reviews module of Shopware 6 you check, approve and comment on the product reviews submitted by your customers.

In Shopware 6 your customers can rate your products. The reviews then arrive in the administration, where you can check, approve and also comment on them.

You can find the module under Catalogues > Reviews.

ThemeWare® tip: ThemeWare® gets more out of your reviews – you control the placement, content and star style in the product box and in the buy box, and you can show the stars for products without reviews as well, together with an invitation to write the first review. On top of that, the social proofing extension and the "Testimonial / customer review" CMS element let you showcase positive customer feedback prominently in your shop.

    Sales channel

Sales channels in Shopware 6: the interface between the administration and the storefront for every sales route of your shop.

Sales channels are the interface between your administration and the storefront. Here you can create a separate sales channel for every channel through which you want to sell your products. Besides an online shop, this could also be the connection of an ERP system that is linked directly to your local store.

ThemeWare® tip: Give every sales channel its own look: with ThemeWare® design variants you can change your shop's character with a single click – five variants are included, ten more can be unlocked as an add-on.
