The browser cache is a memory of a web browser, in which already retrieved resources are stored on the computer as a copy.
In case a resource is needed again, it can be retrieved from the browser cache faster than having to download it again.
When making changes in the storefront, therefore, it may be useful to clear the browser cache in addition to the Shopware cache.
It is not necessary to clear the entire browser cache, it should be enough to refresh your shop in the browser cache.
Clearing the cache may differ depending on the browser. The following options are the most common:
Windows: CTRL + Shift + Entf
Mac: Command + Alt + E
Clearing the cache while reloading the website may differ depending on the browser. The following options are the most common:
Windows: Ctrl + F5
Mac: Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + R or Command (⌘) + Option/Alt (⌥) + R
Important: In addition, empty the Shopware cache once:
Most of the problems in the storefront are the result of an outdated cache. An incorrectly compiled theme can as well lead to representation errors. In order to avoid or fix problems, you should compile the corresponding theme once after theme updates.
Open the administration of your shop
Switch via the main navigation to the "Theme Management" ("Content" => "Themes")
Note: In the Shopware Cloud, you will find the section "Themes" directly in the main navigation.
Save the theme once unchanged
The theme is now being compiled and transferred to the storefront
Important: Additionally, clear the browser cache once:
Most of the representation errors in the storefront result from an outdated cache.
In order to avoid or fix problems, you should clear the cache after each change that affects the storefront and warm it up when necessary.
Open your shop administration
Navigate to the section "Settings" => "System" => "Cache & Indexes".
Click "Clear caches"
The Shopware cache is being cleared now

After updates, we recommend that you assign the default theme and then reassign your ThemeWare® theme:

The storefront has been refreshed now.
Save the configuration once unchanged
The Theme is now being compiled.
Save the change in the sales channel.
Reassign ThemeWare®:
Now reassign your ThemeWare® theme to the appropriate sales channel.
Save the change in the sales channel.
The theme will now be compiled and the theme assets transferred to the storefront.
